1980 Westsail 42

$67,000.00

Description

“Outrider” is a sturdy 1980 Westsail 42 cutter-rigged sloop designed by William Crealock and built by the Westsail Corporation of Costa Mesa, California. Her mast is a 55’ deck stepped “tall rig” made by LeFiell Mfg. Auxiliary power is provided by an 85HP Perkins 4-236 diesel. Given a stiff breeze to fill her numerous sails, she is fully capable of sailing comfortably at 8 kts, while 5-6 kts is her usual pace in milder conditions. Her traditional long full keel with cut-a-way forefoot and keel hung rudder, spoon bow and canoe stern make her a safe long-distance cruiser. Her comfortable, moderately-sized self-bailing center cockpit with removable engine room hatch is equipped with pedestal steering and a dodger. The Westsail 42 is a proven passage maker and circumnavigator.
