This blue-water off-shore boat is an opportunity for someone who is looking for a low budget boat, NOT A PROJECT BOAT, with some TLC needed and some minor repairs. The boat is for sale because of health and personal issues, the owners are eager to sell.
“KONA” is on the hard and sold ‘WHERE IS – AS IS”.
If a sea-trial or any other type of survey is needed, it will all be done out of the water.
The engine of KONA has only 100 (!!!) hours on it since it was overhauled.
“KONA” was built in South Africa and sailed here to Mexico.
“KONA” was a liveaboard for the past 20 years.
At this price for that kind of a boat – it won’t be on the market for very long.
Make an offer, give it the TLC it needs and bring her back to her glory days.
Buying a boat in Mexico can have some tax advantages in saving you state sales tax and the boat is already where you want to start cruising. When buying a boat in Mexico, all of the title transfer, paperwork, and funds transfers are handled in the
United States by a Marine Documentation Services Company for your convenience and peace of mind.
The owners of La Paz Cruisers Supply and Brokerage are cruisers themselves and have been living and cruising aboard in Mexico since 2008. Our team has crossed oceans, sailed to the South Pacific, delivered catamarans from South Africa and
sailed around the Caribbean, Mediterranean and world. Our goal isn’t to waste your time, but to help you find a boat that fits your budget and dreams.
Coming down the companionway steps, the galley is to starboard along the hull in the corridor connecting the interior to the aft master cabin. The galley has a 2 flames gimbaled stove with an oven and a top loading deep fridge. The aft cabin has a double bed to the port side allowing good access to the bed and to the storage space which is ample.
Across from the galley is the navigation table with a door to access a workshop on the other side of the engine. That corridor does not lead to the aft cabin since it is closed with a bulkhead. The engine is between the galley and the workshop and has a great access from both sides and from above.
Moving forward from the companionway steps is the salon with settees on both sides of the hull, a big screen flat TV on the forward bulkhead and a drop-leaf table in the middle.
Continuing forward is a cabin with 2 single bunkbeds to the starboard and a head to port. More storage space is just before the access to the chain-locker at the bow of the boat.
The whole boat has a lot of storage space and all the locking mechanism for drawers and cabinets is very simple & smart and very effective when doing an off-shore passage. The floor and the carpentry is the same, simple and practical and aesthetic.
