“Tigress II” was Designed by Lyle Hess, the Bristol Channel Pilot Cutter is a specialist style and design of a single mast cutter sailing boat, developed for the needs of speeding maritime pilots to large ships entering and leaving the Bristol Channel. The design has been described as the best sailing boat ever, for being high speed, highly maneuverable and yet easy to handle with two crew. The model for this version was Lin and Larry Pardey’s famous “Taleisin”, the boat they sailed around the world. A few sister ships have been custom built. “Tigress II” is one of these, arguably the best Hess BCC in the world, a true showboat loaded with extraordinary and craftsmanship details singular only to ” Tigress II “.
