Construction (data from manufacturer)
The hull and deck are constructed of mild steel (minimum 44,000 psi yield) with a plating thickness of ½” on the keel bottom, ¼” on the keel sides, 3/16” on the hull skin, 11 gauge on the house, deck, cockpit, and transom and 10 gauge on the skeg and rudder. The angle framing system runs both transversely and longitudinally. All seams are welded inside and out. 316 Stainless steel attachment points are provided on deck for stanchions, windlass, toe rails, chainplates, and companionway hatch. The toe rail is a highly polished 316 stainless steel 1/1/2″ by 3″ rectangular section tube and is mounted on integral welded tabs set just high enough to free all deck water quickly. The toe rail is strong enough for preventers, spinnaker blocks, fenders, and lashings to be tied off anywhere along the boat’s sides. Integral in the keel structure is a baffled fuel tank. Below the fuel tank is a sealed, lead filled ballast compartment in a bulb appendage. A separate propane locker is integral with the transom. A forward sail locker with deck access provides a watertight collision bulkhead. A self-draining anchor tray is built in. The bow-sprit/anchor roller is a stainless steel fabrication and welded into the hull. The wrap around salon windows and hull side fixed ports are laminated and heat strengthened reflective coated glass using chemical vapor deposition.
The original coating system began with the entire hull being sandblasted inside and out, followed by molten zinc flame-sprayed on the hull above the waterline and on the deck. The entire hull and deck exterior were then coated with successive layers of epoxy (Devoe 235) to a 20 mil thickness. Awlgrip sandable fairing paints were then applied and sanded smooth. The finish coat on the hull and deck is Awlgrip polyurethane “Off-White” with a contrasting boot top and cove stripe in “Jade Mist Green.” The most recent haul-out was January 2011 when two coats of antifouling bottom paint (Pettit Pro) were applied.
The sandblasted hull interior was sprayed with two coats of zinc-rich epoxy and hand brushed behind all framing. Extra coats of epoxy were applied in the bilge areas. The hull is insulated with polyurethane spray foam to a thickness of 1-1/2” to 3”. Over the foam, the hull sides are lined with white painted mahogany plywood. The deck is finished with Awlgrip Griptex non-skid surface. The cockpit seats, floor and coaming tops as well as the transom steps are overlaid with teak and rubber. The shaped, curved salon wrap around window is made of laminated and heat strengthened reflective coated glass as are the fix hull side ports.

Going down 4 steps from the cockpit, the U shape galley is to starboard and the day head is to port. Turning back towards the aft from the galley, going down 1 more step to a utility room/workshop. Turning back towards the aft on the port side, is the access to an aft cabin with a double bed. Continuing forward from the companionway, a wide navigation table with a seat is to port and an electrical switchboard is in the corridor inside a cabinet to starboard. The generator is located under the floorboards of the corridor. This all is leading to the salon with a U shape settee to starboard and a long settee to port. The U shape settee has a teak table in the middle. The engine is located under the floorboards of the salon and the batteries with its management assembly are fore of the engine under a separate floorboard. Continuing forward from the salon, going down 2 more steps, to the starboard there is a cabin with 2 single bunk-beds and to port is a complete head with a separate stall-shower. This all leads to the forward state-room with a double bed and ample storage space.
