Description
The 1980 Hans Christian Staysail Ketch has been full time cruising the Sea of Cortez for the past 6 years. She has been professionally sailed, maintained, and upgraded throughout that time. The current owner is a USCG licensed captain and an American Sailing Association (ASA) instructor at all cruising levels. The boat has been sailed smartly and kindly and is now ready for a new owner to continue cruising. Hans Christians are well known for their sea kindliness, safety, and sailing ability, as well as being the prettiest boat in most anchorages. The lines on the HC 43 are one of a kind, and when added with the full suite of Tan bark sails (8 in total), it is just a boat that everybody notices. Over $40k in upgrades over the past 5 years makes this quintessential cruising vessel ready for her new owner.
The current owners are currently still cruising with plans on being in San Carlos, Mexico around early June 2026. If you want to see the boat before they haul out, reach out now! The boat will be hauled out by mid June. The current owners are moving back to land and want the boat sold now. This is arguably the best equipped, maintained, and upgraded Hans Christian on the market. The boat is listed well below market value for a quick sale. 2020 survey available with a fair market price of 90k (prior to the 40k in upgrades and equipment put into the boat since).
